Monon Utilities wins Best Tasting Water in Indiana!

The crowd cheered as Monon Utilities was presented with the Best Tasting Water in Indiana award at the Alliance Fall Conference. The taste test was conducted during lunch on the last day of the conference at the beautiful Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth, Indiana. Rochelle Owen – USDA Rural Development, Liz Melvin – IDEM, and Betsy Blosser – Indiana RCAP served as our thirsty judges. They judged 8 different water samples based on clarity, odor, and taste.

Taking second place was the Town of Colfax and Pioneer Water, LLC took home third place. David Scott, Utilities Superintendent for Monon Utilities will take a water sample to compete in the National Rural Water Association’s Great American Taste Test during the NRWA Rally February 8-10, 2010 in Washington, DC.
