Course Description

This session provides water professionals with a practical understanding of corrosion control methods used in both water treatment facilities and distribution systems. Participants will explore the causes and impacts of corrosion, including effects on infrastructure, water quality, regulatory compliance, and customer complaints. The course also examines common taste and odor issues in drinking water systems, identifying typical culprits such as algae, organics, metals, disinfectants, and distribution system conditions. Attendees will review treatment strategies, operational adjustments, and best practices used to minimize corrosion while improving finished water quality and customer satisfaction.
