Course Description
This course provides participants with a comprehensive tour and operational overview of the Columbus City Utilities Wastewater Treatment Plant, a Class IV activated sludge facility rated for 14 million gallons per day (MGD). Attendees will gain a practical understanding of the treatment processes, equipment operation, solids handling systems, and regulatory requirements associated with modern municipal wastewater treatment. The course begins with a guided facility tour, allowing participants to observe the complete treatment process from influent reception through final effluent discharge and biosolids management. Emphasis is placed on understanding process flow, equipment function, operational challenges, and maintenance considerations.
Learning Objectives
