Course Description

This course provides participants with a comprehensive tour and operational overview of the Vincennes Wastewater Treatment Plant. Attendees will gain a practical understanding of the facility's treatment processes, equipment operation, solids handling systems, and the regulatory requirements associated with municipal wastewater treatment. The course begins with a guided tour of the plant, allowing participants to observe the complete treatment process from influent reception through final effluent discharge and biosolids management. Throughout the tour, emphasis will be placed on understanding process flow, the purpose and operation of major treatment equipment, day-to-day operational considerations, maintenance practices, and the challenges associated with providing reliable, compliant wastewater treatment for the community.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the overall treatment process used at the Vincennes Wastewater Treatment Plant from influent to final effluent.
