volatile solids, E. coli, CBOD, and CBOD seeding. Lab safety, sampling procedures, storage, and
preservation requirements. Documentation and troubleshooting of lab issues. Laboratory
calculations. Review of DMRQA testing requirements, equipment needed to efficiently make up the
samples, methods for testing a sample of unknown strength, CBOD strategy, some of the common causes
of errors, and reporting.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe methods for testing pH, ammonia, phosphorus, nitrogen, solids, E. coli, and CBOD, including CBOD seeding.
