A Day of Golf, a Morning of Shooting, and Support for Student Scholarships

Alliance members and industry friends spent time on the golf course and at the shooting range this fall for a good cause. The 2026 Scholarship Golf Outing and 21st Annual Scholarship Clay Shoot offered a chance to catch up, enjoy some friendly competition, and help students from eligible Alliance member families continue their education.

2026 Scholarship Golf Outing

Golfers gathered over breakfast and coffee at Smock Golf Course in Indianapolis before heading out for the September 10 outing. Every team spot was filled, and beautiful weather made for a great day on the course. After the 9 a.m. start, teams enjoyed a little friendly competition and time to catch up between shots.

Back in the clubhouse, everyone settled in for lunch, tournament results, and prizes. It was a fun day with a purpose, raising money for scholarships for Alliance member families. Thank you to the golfers, sponsors, and volunteers who made it possible!

21st Annual Scholarship Clay Shoot

The 21st Annual Scholarship Clay Shoot took place Thursday, October 1, at Atterbury Shooting Complex in Edinburgh. Participants started the morning with pastries, coffee, and conversation before a safety and rules briefing.

New this year, a Calcutta auction added a fun way to support the Alliance Scholarship Fund before shooting began. The auction highlighted five preselected shooters, giving attendees a chance to buy the card of the shooter they thought would earn the highest score. The featured shooters then headed out to compete in a competition within the regular clay shoot. Half of the auction proceeds would go to the winning bidder, with the other half benefiting the scholarship fund.

Great weather made for an enjoyable morning of trap and skeet, with a shoot-off needed to break a tie for first and second place. After shooting concluded, participants gathered for taco truck fare and the awards presentation, where Andrew Skaggs was announced as the Calcutta Champion.

Callie Wrede, who purchased Andrew’s card, generously donated her winnings back to the scholarship fund, bringing all Calcutta proceeds back to the program.

Together, the two events raised a record-breaking $25,000 for the Alliance Scholarship Fund! That’s an incredible total, and we’re grateful to everyone who golfed, shot, sponsored, volunteered, or donated. You helped make this our biggest fundraising year yet, and those dollars will help students from Alliance member families take the next steps in their education.
