Class Description:
This 3-hour course provides an overview of drinking water regulatory compliance, from daily operational responsibilities through preparation for a regulatory inspection. Participants will review key drinking water regulations and requirements, important compliance dates and deadlines, and proper recordkeeping practices. The course will also cover proper sampling procedures, Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) requirements, and the major components of a sanitary survey. Emphasis will be placed on practical steps operators can take to organize records, review system operations, address potential compliance concerns, and prepare their facility and staff for an inspection or sanitary survey.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify key drinking water regulations, regulatory requirements, and important compliance dates and deadlines.
- Explain proper sampling procedures, documentation, and record-keeping practices.
- Describe the basic requirements and reporting responsibilities associated with Consumer Confidence Reports (CCRs).
- Identify the major components of a sanitary survey and describe how to prepare system records, facilities, and staff for a regulatory inspection.
