Indiana Rural Water Day Recap
On Wednesday, February 18, 2026, rural water professionals, community leaders, and industry partners gathered at the Indiana Statehouse for a meaningful and energizing Indiana Rural Water Day.
From 9:00–11:00 a.m., the Statehouse was filled with conversation, collaboration, and a shared commitment to protecting and strengthening Indiana’s water and wastewater systems. The morning was centered around one powerful goal — ensuring the voices of rural water were heard.
Attendees had the opportunity to connect directly with legislators over coffee and conversation in a relaxed setting. These face-to-face discussions allowed utility representatives and industry professionals to share real-world challenges, highlight local success stories, and emphasize the critical importance of sustainable water infrastructure across our state.
We were especially grateful to hear remarks from Indiana Senator Koch and Indiana Representative Culp, who took time to engage with attendees and recognize the essential role rural water systems play in protecting public health, supporting economic growth, and sustaining Indiana communities.
Events like Indiana Rural Water Day strengthen the bridge between policymakers and the professionals who operate, maintain, and improve our water and wastewater systems every day. Advocacy doesn’t just happen in committee rooms — it happens in conversations like the ones shared throughout the morning.
